This wine is made from grapes grown in the winemaker’s own Finca Santa María vineyard in calcareous clay soils on over 25-year old vines trained in the double Guyot system at an altitude of 830 m above sea-level. Aged 14 months in new French oak barrels and a minimum of 10 months in the bottle.
Dark ruby in colour with a complex bouquet of blackberries, soy sauce, and caramelised violets together with smooth earthy notes. When left to breath, this wine gains in stature, supple, tasty, and full of character with a long aftertaste. Easy to drink now but will gain in structure if left to age.
